eyebrow tattoo

A complete semi permanent makeup eyebrow treatment with Jeni is made up of 2 appointments over 4 hours; a 1st session starting with a detailed 45 minute consultation in which a portfolio of work  is shown. This is followed by re-design and ‘draw on’ time, and the practical part of the 1st appointment.

After 6 weeks the brows will have faded (up to 30%) and a top up treatment is carried out to strengthen the colour and shape if required.  A ‘less is more’ approach is taken by Jeni initially to enable clients to adjust to their new brows as this can take some time in cases of complete eyebrow loss. It is always easier to add than take away!

”Block’  brows are not undertaken; a layered ‘hairstroke’ brow takes time to complete but it gives the most realistic effect.  Cropped images of Jeni’s work are shown below with apologies for the varied lighting.
Brow Revival™ gives the effect of ultra-fine, delicate hair strokes that blend seamlessly with your natural brow hair. The technique is the result of 12 years research, design and development by our team of expert stylists.

Our brow stylists work with the “landscape” of your brow – be it too short, thin patchy or sparse – reviving the basic shape. And if your brows are completely gone we’ll re-create an entirely new brow for you.
Permanent eyebrows are essentially eyebrow tattoos, you do realize that, don't you? That means tattoo dye will be injected a bit under the surface of your skin, where it will leave permanent marks - meaning the colour. The process itself is not really painful, depending on your pain level, but usually the pins are so thin and precise you'd feel only pinching. So, permanent eyebrows are done in a salon, you should choose a really good makeup artist - check the section on what to mind when choosing one. Permanent eyebrows can be done with different colours, but my suggestion is to go with the most neutral possible - check out the eyebrow colours appropriate for different faces here. Eyebrow tattoo is permanent and will stay with you for life - the shape you choose, the colour you get - forever. Think hard, there might be other options.
The work involved with eyebrow embroidery is only performed on the skin surface. Thus, making eyebrow embroidery a MUCH SAFER treatment than eyebrow tattoos. The colour can also be adjusted in alignment with the original eyebrow hair colour, which results to a realistic look and feel. Eyebrow embroidery creates the background and fills in the parts of the eyebrows that looked empty so that a full and complete look is accomplished. The "3D" effect gives it an added realism to the end result.

Unlike an eyebrow tattoo, 3D eyebrow embroidery does not leave a flat, dull and fake look that tattoos leave behind.
I first had my eyebrows tattooed in the Nineties. Like many women, I had over-plucked in the Seventies, because of the fashion then for narrow arcs, and they had never grown back.

One of the few places to offer the procedure was Harrods - and it was hideously expensive at £800. I had them tattooed again earlier this year at the Urban Retreat - the procedure costs about £400.
